Carpmaels’ reputation and its size both really appealed to me when I was considering joining the firm. I had worked in large law firms over a 20 year period, and I was ready for a role in a business with a welcoming, family feel to it. Carpmaels has fully lived up to that expectation and embraces that family ethos.

In my role as Head of Technology Operations, I’m responsible for running the day-to-day operational side of the Technology department, with the Service Desk, Training and AV Teams reporting directly into me. No two days are the same, and often I’ll be liaising closely with different areas of the firm, whether that is via service management elements such as Incident, Problem and Change Management, or through ad hoc meetings and project involvement. Building relationships within my role is key, understanding what drives the business forward helps to deliver the highest level of support.

My role has changed and developed beyond what I could have imagined when I first joined Carpmaels. The exposure, knowledge and experience I have gained over the last 4 years has been vast and continues to develop on a day-to-day basis.

Carpmaels is a great place to work and I genuinely enjoy coming into the office. I am lucky to work in a team who are committed to working hard and continually looking to improve. It makes for a very open, progressive, and collaborative environment. There is always something taking place in the office, whether that is a club, event or social gathering. I have dabbled in the world of beekeeping, played football for the firm and also failed miserably at the yearly quiz.

The people, culture and environment are all huge positives for me, and the work-life balance is excellent. At every level and job role, people are friendly, approachable and treat you with respect.
