Carpmaels & Ransford hosts event with Sophie Chandauka

Carpmaels & Ransford is celebrating International Women’s Day this year by hosting a virtual event with Sophie Chandauka. Sophie is the Global COO of Shared Services and Banking Operations at Morgan Stanley and was previously Head of Group Treasury (Legal) at Virgin Money.

Sophie will be talking to the firm about the challenges she has faced in her career, the role men can play in supporting women in the workplace, barriers to female leadership as well as intersectionality.

Over the course of her career Sophie has won several awards and was recognised by the Queen in 2018 for her contribution in the Commonwealth diaspora. She is an Ambassador of the 30% Club, a campaign group dedicated to increasing gender diversity on boards and senior management teams, and co-founder of the Black British Business Awards.

Seeking to improve gender balance at all levels is a top priority for Carpmaels & Ransford. We have a number of initiatives to support the development of female employees and working parents and we are constantly improving our talent programmes to support career development across the firm.

Camilla Balleny, Lead Partner for Diversity & Inclusion at Carpmaels & Ransford said: “We are really looking forward to hearing Sophie’s insights and experiences and we are pleased to welcome her, virtually, to the firm. While we would love to hold the event in person we think it’s important that we continue to mark events such as International Women’s Day virtually to encourage ongoing discussions about diversity and inclusion at our firm.”
