The Carpmaels Christmas Chicken Day

This year we are celebrating Christmas with a look at one of our oldest festive traditions: the Carpmaels Christmas Chicken Day.

Chicken Day takes place every year in the run up to Christmas and involves the giving out of over 200 organic chickens and nut roasts to Carpmaels employees. The much-loved tradition dates back over 200 years and is still going strong despite the firm growing significantly in size in the years since it started.

Managing Partner Hugh Goodfellow explains the origins of the tradition:

Arranging chickens and nut roasts for a firm of over 300 people is no easy feat and there have been plenty of logistical obstacles over the years. Rute de Oliveira, HR Associate and Chicken Day Co-ordinator explains:

Chicken Day includes both current and retired Carpmaels employees and partners, offering an opportunity for old and new colleagues alike to catch up and share some Christmas cheer. Chris Mercer, retired Carpmaels Partner and consultant, shares his experiences:

As Technical Assistant Emma Rudge mentions, Chicken Day can often come as a bit of a surprise to new joiners at Carpmaels…

From everyone at Carpmaels & Ransford, we wish you, your family and colleagues a happy and safe festive holiday.
