The network was launched at a drinks event to celebrate Pride month in June

Carpmaels & Ransford is pleased to announce the launch of its first dedicated LGBTQ+ network, created for people at the firm who identify as LGBTQ+ and their allies to meet, get to know each other and share experiences and information.

The network will organise events throughout the year, as well as share resources and information about LGBTQ+ issues.

This group will help to further cement the work already done by the firm to educate and raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues. This has included events such as a Trans 101 discussion from Global Butterflies, a talk from Lord Chris Smith about LGBTQ+ rights and a presentation on the experiences of older LGBTQ+ people from Clare Summerskill.

Isobel Barry, Partner at Carpmaels & Ransford, commented:

“Pride month is an opportunity to reflect on our year-round efforts for diversity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people at C&R, and to celebrate our progress. We haven’t been able to celebrate in person since 2019, so it was fantastic to bring everyone together to mark the launch of our new LGBTQ+ network.”

The firm is a member of the Stonewall Diversity Champions Programme, the leading employers’ programme for ensuring inclusivity for LGBTQ+ employees. We also contribute to the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index which enables us to benchmark our progress and identify areas for improvement.
