Carpmaels & Ransford announces first cohort of Mental Health First Aiders

Mental Health Awareness Week is taking place in the UK from 10th to 16th May and this year the theme is Nature. Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, the annual event aims to raise awareness of mental health and encourage people to seek help for mental health issues.

At Carpmaels & Ransford we are marking the week with a trio of events starting with a remote forest bathing experience. During the guided experience, attendees will be invited to slow down and connect with the natural world.

This event will be followed by two interactive workshops during which we will be talking about adversity and how we can use transformational resilience to recover as individuals and a community.

The week also coincides with the qualification of the firm’s first cohort of Mental Health First Aiders who will act as a point of contact for employees experiencing mental health struggles. The First Aiders have been trained to listen and recognise signs of mental ill health so that they can provide support  to their colleagues.

Camilla Balleny, Lead Partner for Diversity & Inclusion at Carpmaels & Ransford, said:

“These events are a welcome opportunity to reflect on how we can promote wellbeing in the firm and continue to support each other with the help of our new group of Mental Health First Aiders.”
